Can’t stop cooking…

We had a lovely lunch with our friends on Sunday. It was a beautiful day so we enjoyed our Ottolenghi feast in the garden, only moving round a few times to stay in the sunshine. We were treated to lamb meatballs with barberries, yoghurt and herbs, served with mejadra – a gorgeous dish of lentils and rice with crispy onions on top. Followed by a delicious chocolate cheesecake – a big hit with the children and adults alike.

Despite knowing I was going to be wined and dined handsomely, I wasn’t able to resist a bit of cooking in the morning. A disastrous loaf of bread (which Missy B had to make do with for her school trip on Monday – oops). But these fine looking raspberry ripple cupcakes were a hit. A hint of raspberry curd in the middle, courtesy of my sister-in-law – sorry you weren’t around to taste them, but I can assure you they were fab. Next time you make the curd, I’ll make you a batch of the cakes!
